A question worth asking

Some stone projects feel like an enjoyable weekend transformation. Others are far easier when an experienced professional takes the lead. The right choice is not about how adventurous you are. It depends on the size, shape and setting of the surface—and on how perfect you want the finished details to feel.

Start with the surface in front of you, not with a rule that every project must be DIY or professional.
01

How large is the change?

A compact panel, cabinet front or simple section of wall is easier to plan and inspect as you go. A floor-to-ceiling feature, a long run of panels or a wall that dominates the room leaves less room for trial and error.

Ask yourself whether you can comfortably handle the full size of the project, keep the stone aligned and step back often enough to judge the overall look. If the scale makes any of those difficult, professional help can protect the design you have in mind.

02

Is the surface truly simple?

A clear, flat rectangle is very different from a wall with sockets, shelves, doorways or several outside corners. Curves, columns and fitted furniture also need more planning because every edge stays visible at close range.

If you find yourself counting several tricky details before the project has begun, that is useful information. It may be the point where a professional turns a stressful job into a calm one.

03

Where will the stone live?

Dry indoor spaces are the simplest starting point. Bathrooms, splash-prone areas, fireplaces, outdoor walls, and surfaces exposed to strong heat or weather need a stone and approach chosen for that setting. Ask us about suitability before deciding who should do the work.

04

What finish will make you happy?

Some people enjoy a handmade result with small natural differences. Others want joins, corners and pattern direction to feel almost invisible. The more exact your expectation, the more valuable experienced hands become—especially on the wall you will see every day.

Confidence comes from a clear first conversation

You do not need to arrive with a construction plan. An approximate size, a description of the surface, and the names of the stones you like are enough to begin. Tell us where the surface is, what it needs to handle, and which details concern you most. From there, you can decide whether to keep the project personal, bring in a professional, or share the work.

Still deciding? Tell us about the surface and the idea you have in mind. We’ll help you identify the questions worth answering before you begin.
